Roselle Luoshen Flower Seeds (Hibiscus sabdariffa)

The Hibiscus sabdariffa, commonly known as Roselle, Jamaican Sorrel, or Florida Cranberry, is a fast-growing tropical hibiscus species prized for its deep red edible calyxes, medicinal uses, and refreshing tart flavor. Native to tropical regions of the Old World, Roselle has been cultivated for centuries for teas, beverages, preserves, herbal remedies, and culinary use.

Known for its vivid cranberry-red calyxes that surround the seed pods, Roselle is widely used to create herbal teas, syrups, jams, juices, sauces, and natural food coloring. The flavor is commonly described as tart and fruity, similar to cranberry, rhubarb, or sorrel.

This tropical annual or short-lived perennial typically grows 4–6 feet tall with attractive deeply lobed foliage and hibiscus-like flowers. Nearly all parts of the plant are useful, including the leaves, calyxes, seeds, and roots. The calyxes are harvested while still fleshy and red before turning brown.

The seeds may also be roasted and brewed as a coffee substitute in some traditional uses. Roselle remains highly valued in tropical cultures worldwide for both culinary and herbal applications.
