Quaking Aspen Tree Seeds (Populus tremuloides) Cold Hardy Golden Fall Tree

The Populus tremuloides, commonly known as Quaking Aspen, is one of North America's most iconic deciduous trees. Famous for its brilliant white bark and shimmering leaves that flutter in the slightest breeze, this fast-growing species is prized for its beauty, wildlife value, and spectacular golden fall color.

Quaking Aspen develops a narrow to rounded crown with glossy green leaves attached to flattened leaf stalks. This unique feature causes the foliage to tremble or "quake" in even gentle winds, creating the characteristic movement for which the tree is named.

In spring, the tree produces long silvery catkins before the leaves fully emerge. As autumn arrives, the foliage transforms into stunning shades of golden yellow, creating one of the most recognizable fall displays in North America.

This hardy tree is highly valued for wildlife habitat and ecological importance. It readily reproduces through root suckers, often forming beautiful groves and colonies. Quaking Aspen is well suited for cooler climates and performs best in locations with moist, well-draining soils.
