Pink Fairy Duster Tree Seeds (Calliandra eriophylla)
The Calliandra eriophylla, commonly known as Pink Fairy Duster, is a low-growing evergreen desert shrub prized for its soft, feathery pink puffball flowers and exceptional drought tolerance. Native to the deserts of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, this ornamental shrub is widely used in xeriscape and wildlife-friendly landscaping.
Known for its delicate, pom-pom-like blooms, the Fairy Duster produces vibrant pink to rose-colored flowers that resemble soft plumes or powder puffs. These blooms appear in cycles from spring through fall, often attracting hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies throughout the growing season, making it a valuable pollinator plant for low-water gardens.
This hardy evergreen shrub typically grows 1–5 feet tall and spreads up to 3 feet wide, forming a naturally rounded shape. It thrives in hot, dry environments and is well adapted to poor soils, making it an excellent choice for desert gardens, rock gardens, and low-maintenance landscapes.
Pink Fairy Duster is highly valued for its continuous blooming habit and ability to provide long-lasting color in arid climates where few other flowering shrubs perform as reliably.

Fairy Duster Germination:
1)Â Place the seeds inside a bowl. Heat water until it boils and let the water cool until you no longer hear it boiling, pour it into the bowl with the seeds.
2)Â Let the seeds soak until they swell. This should take appx. 24 hours.
3)Â Take the seeds out of the water and wrap them in a paper towel to keep them moist until you prepare their pots.
4)Â Prepare a well-draining soil using coarse sand, perlite, and loam.
5) Place no more than two seeds in each pot at a depth of ¼ inch.
6)Â Take the pots outdoors and place them in a spot with light shade.
7)Â Maintain the soil in the pots slightly moist but allow the soil to dry out for a day during this period.
8)Â Germination can happen at any time from 20 to 45 days. Once it happens, move the pot to a sunnier spot and continue to moisten the top few inches of the soil whenever it dries out completely.
