HERCULE'S CLUB TREE SEEDS (Zanthoxylum clava-herculis)
The Hercules Club Tree (Zanthoxylum clava-herculis), also known as Prickly Ash, is a unique and rugged native tree recognized for its heavily spined trunk and branches, giving it a bold and unmistakable appearance. This fast-growing species has been valued for centuries for its traditional uses and striking ornamental character.
Covered in sharp, knobby spines, this tree makes a dramatic addition to natural landscapes, hedgerows, and woodland edges. It typically grows as a small tree or large shrub, reaching up to 50 feet in ideal conditions, though often remaining more compact.
Historically, various parts of the plant have been used in traditional practices, particularly for its tingling, numbing properties, which gave rise to its long-standing association with natural remedies. Its berries, bark, and roots have all been utilized in different ways by early settlers and indigenous cultures.
