Guam Boonie Pepper Seeds “Doni Sali” (Capsicum chinense)
The Capsicum chinense, commonly known as Guam Boonie Pepper or Doni Sali, is a rare tropical heirloom chili pepper native to Guam and the Mariana Islands. Famous for its intense heat and compact fruit size, this fiery pepper variety is highly sought after by hot pepper collectors and chili enthusiasts around the world.
Despite their small size, these peppers are known for delivering an extremely powerful heat that can rival some of the hottest traditional chili varieties. The fruits typically mature from green to bright red and are widely used in island-style hot sauces, pepper vinegars, marinades, and spicy dishes.
Guam Boonie Pepper plants are highly productive and can grow up to 3 feet tall, producing heavy yields of small upright peppers throughout the growing season. Their compact growth habit makes them excellent for containers, patios, raised beds, and greenhouse growing.
These peppers thrive in warm tropical and subtropical climates with full sun and well-draining soil. For best germination results, seeds benefit from warm soil temperatures and consistent moisture during early growth stages.

Scoville Heat Rating: 100,000–200,000+ SHU

Doni Sali Germination:
1) Wear gloves when handling boonie pepper seeds, because they contain a high level of the spicy chemical capsaicin, which is what boosts the boonie pepper scoville rating to between 16,000 to 40,000 units, according to Pepper Joe's.
2) Start the seeds in small pots, six-pack containers or individual peat pots filled with moist seed-starting compost at a depth of 1/4 inch.
3) Set the pots on a propagation mat heated to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Loosely cover the containers with plastic wrap to hold moisture around the seeds. Keep the soil moist, but let the surface dry out between waterings, so it doesn't become soggy. If kept moist and warm, boonie pepper seeds will germinate in 14 to 28 days.
