European Pear Tree Seeds (Pyrus communis) Hardy Fast Growing Fruit Tree

The Pyrus communis, commonly known as the European Pear or Common Pear, is one of the most important fruit trees cultivated throughout temperate regions worldwide. This deciduous fruit tree is the parent species of many popular commercial pear varieties grown for fresh eating, preserves, and culinary use.

European Pear Trees are valued not only for their delicious edible fruit but also for their ornamental beauty. In spring, trees become covered in masses of attractive white blossoms that provide excellent seasonal interest while attracting bees and pollinators to the garden.

This hardy species develops into a medium-sized tree typically reaching 25–30 feet tall with a broad rounded canopy. The glossy green foliage later develops attractive fall coloration before leaf drop. Pear trees perform best in full sun with fertile, well-draining soil and moderate moisture.

Widely planted throughout North America and Europe, European Pear adapts well to many temperate climates and is suitable for orchards, edible landscapes, homesteads, and ornamental garden plantings.
