Crimson Bottlebrush Flower Tree Seeds (Callistemon citrinus)

The Callistemon citrinus, commonly known as Crimson Bottlebrush, is a striking evergreen ornamental tree and shrub native to Australia, prized for its brilliant red bottlebrush-shaped flowers and highly attractive pollinator-friendly nature. This unique species is widely grown in warm climates as both a landscape ornamental and container-grown houseplant.

Known for its vivid crimson flower spikes that resemble traditional bottle brushes, this plant produces abundant nectar-rich blooms that attract hummingbirds, butterflies, bees, and many beneficial pollinators throughout the flowering season. The bright red blooms contrast beautifully against its aromatic green foliage, creating a dramatic tropical appearance.

Crimson Bottlebrush can be grown as a large shrub, hedge, patio specimen, or trained into a small ornamental tree reaching up to 15 feet tall. Its flexible growth habit also makes it suitable for espalier training, privacy screens, and decorative container cultivation indoors or outdoors.

Following flowering, the plant develops distinctive woody seed capsules along the stems that may remain attached for years, adding additional ornamental texture and character to mature plants.
